Sound Advice

Sound Advice is a boutique music company in Los Angeles, representing artists, producers and brands. In its own words, its specialty is clients who don’t fit the normal industry boxes. For a company that sells taste, the site had to be something you play, not a page you read. We built it in Webflow as a hi-fi console: the playlist is the navigation, and the TV plays their work.

Year2025

The Sound Advice console running on a laptop on a walnut credenza, vertical blinds throwing bars of light at left and a turntable on the sideboard behind.
The top unit of the Sound Advice rack lifted onto cream: the company name on brushed metal over four keys, About, Contact, Listen and Follow.
The Sound Advice rack taken apart on cream: the keyed top unit, the VU unit, the speaker with the logo, the TV and the deck, each in its walnut case.
The top of the Sound Advice About sheet on a phone: the headline, EST 2020, and the company’s description in a serif face.
The Sound Advice About page in a window on walnut: a printed sheet headed Looking for some Sound Advice?, with the company’s own description, a drawing of the rack and the logo.

Oxbow Industries

Oxbow is an investment firm built by entrepreneurs, in a category where almost every website looks like every other one. By the time it reached us the brand was finished and the pages were signed off. What nobody had yet was how the thing behaved, which is the half that decides whether a site reads as considered or as a template. We built it in three weeks, in partnership with The Lodge: seven pages, one motion system every page inherits, and a set of components the client runs themselves.
